    “Second Friday Notes,” a poetry and music series, debuts from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 10 at Whole Foods Market in Town & Country. St. Louis area poets featured in “Flood Stage: An Anthology of St. Louis Poets,” and Ro Anderson, a singer/songwriter, are featured. Call (314) 973-0616.

  • St. Louis Southern Gospel Gathering 2010

    St. Louis Southern Gospel Gathering 2010 is at 2 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 19 at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church (17126 Manchester Road in Wildwood). The Davis Family and 2008 International Female Vocalist of the Year Kathy Atkins perform. A free-will offering will be taken to help cover expenses. Call Kathy at (618) 550-5777.

  • Crescendo Concert Series of St. Charles County

    3:00pm

    The Crescendo Concert Series of St. Charles County will host a concert at 3 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 19, at St. Charles Presbyterian Church, 131 Gamble Street. The concert will feature The Cumberland Wind Quintet. Thirty minutes prior to the concert, musicologist Nancy Rubenstein, Ph.D., gives a short talk on the style and history of the performance music. Individual tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students.  Tickets may be purchased at the door for cash or check, or in advance by mail by sending a self-addressed envelope and check made payable to Crescendo Concert Series to P.     The Coffeehouse Open Mic Night will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 23, at the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building auditorium on the St. Charles Community College campus. There is no cost to enter. For more information, call Jacqueline Gray at 922-8569.
