Picnic for the Blind and Visually Impaired -

Pacific civic organizations and businesses present a picnic for the blind and visually impaired at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26 at Pacific City Park on West Congress in Pacific. Featured speakers include George Hinkel, of the Cincinatti Bengals; Christine Parsons, president of the Missouri Chapter of the National Federation for the Blind; Pastor Dave Andrus, executive director of Lutheran Blind Mission; and Pacific elected officials. Lafayette Square Spring Home & Garden Tour -

The 43rd annual Lafayette Square Spring Home & Garden Tour is 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, June 2-3 and visits a dozen homes and gardens in the neighborhood. Visitors can enjoy one of the most historically and architecturally rich neighborhoods in St. Louis, traveling between them using a trolley or horse-drawn carriages. Other festivities include vintage baseball, a Saturday wine festival, and unique gift shops and restaurants. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 on the weekend of the tour. “Run 4 Your Life” will be held at 8 a.m. on Sun., June 3, at Lakeside 370 Park in St. Peters. The 5-mile run is fast, flat and scenic. Hands-On History Adventure Day Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from June 4 through June 8 at the First Missouri State Capitol, 200 South Main Street in St. Charles. The camp, open to children ages 8 through 11, will explore Missouri’s history with interactive experience and a knowledgeable staff. Campers will learn 1800-era skills, crafts and history. Marquette High School running camp is from 8-10 a.m. on Monday-Friday, June 18-22 at the Marquette track. The camp is open to students entering third through ninth grades, and campers receive one-on-one instruction from Marquette coaches, runners and alums. The camp ends with a simulated cross country race. Registration includes T-shirt and costs $50 if received by June 11 ($60 thereafter). All Things Lavender Day Trip -

All Things Lavender, a day trip designed to delight the senses and sooth body and soul, will leave the Civic Park parking lot in O’Fallon at 9 a.m. on Wed., June 27. On the first stop, the scenic Lavender Farm at Winding Brooks Estate in Eureka, Mo., see acres of lavender flowers in bloom, visit the Lavender Shoppe in the 100-year-old farmhouse, sip sweet lavender tea, munch lavender pastries and make a fresh lavender wand keepsake. Next, enjoy lunch at Joe Boccardi’s Ristorante, and then tour the Black Madonna Shrine and Grottos before returning to O’Fallon by 4 p.m. The cost of $70 for O’Fallon residents and $78 for non-residents includes deluxe transportation, an escort, lunch, a snack and the lavender wand. USATF Certified Firecracker Run -

The O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce’s 28th annual USATF Certified Firecracker Run will be held at 7 a.m. on Wed., July 4, starting at T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O’Fallon. Runners can choose a 10K, 5K or a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. Runners will be met with a Health Expo, vendors, attendance prizes and an awards ceremony following the event. The cost of event is $25 for early registration for the 10K and 5K run and $30 after June 1. The early registration for the 1 mile fun run/walk is $15 or $20 after June 1. Victory Soccer Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on July 23 through July 27, at Prairie View Elementary School, 1550 Feise Road in Dardenne Prairie. The youth camp is offered to boys and girls from ages 5 to 11, and aimed at the recreational level player. The camp will focus on youth players’ development in terms of individual skill and team strategy. Goran Hunhak, who played 19 years of professional outdoor and indoor soccer in Europe and the United States, will conduct the camp. West County Woodcarvers Show -
