Kumon Grand Opening and Literacy Open House -
Saturday, March 03 - 10:00 AM
The Kumon after-school math and reading enrichment program is opening a new location in Wildwood, at 16572 Manchester Road. The public is invited to Kumon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3 for the literacy open house event that supports Reading Is Fundamental (RIF).
Local educators and entrepreneurs, Lisa Best and Natalie White, welcome families with school-age children to the free event celebrating learning.
“Reading is essential to the academic and personal development of children, opening their minds to new worlds, people, and experiences,” owner Lisa Best said. “I’m excited to work with local families to support such a noteworthy cause.”
Kumon’s partnership with RIF, the largest children’s non-profit literacy organization in the United States, will help bring books to children in need. Kumon of Wildwood will donate $10, equivalent to four new books, for every student that enrolls during the month of March. Donations will support RIF’s mission to bring books to underserved children. Kumon North America, Inc. is donating a minimum of $50,000 to this cause.
Families are encouraged to attend the Kumon of Wildwood literacy open house, which will include read-aloud sessions featuring books from Kumon’s Recommended Reading List and a new book drive supporting RIF.
