14th annual Taste of West County - Monday, February 27 - 5:30 PM
The 14th annual Taste of West County is from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mon., Feb. 27, in the Lafayette School Commons. Samples of food from more than 35 local restaurants, beverages, silent auction and raffle are featured. Tickets are $15 each, and $5 for children 5 and younger. Family packages are available. Cinderella Project - Wednesday, February 29 -
Donations for the Cinderella Project are accepted through Feb. 29 at the customer service locations at Chesterfield Mall, Mid Rivers Mall, South County Center and West County Center. Gowns of all shapes, sizes and styles are welcomed. They should be prom-appropriate and on hangers. Sizes 14 and up are especially in demand. Please no velvet or velveteen, as prom is a spring event. The gowns will be available at Cinderella boutique, opening in March at Mid Rivers Mall, to students referred by school counselors and/or social service agencies. Circle of Concern hosts its annual Birthday Bash - Thursday, March 01 - 3:00 PM
Circle of Concern hosts its annual Birthday Bash from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, March 1 at the charity’s center at 112 St. Louis Ave., Valley Park. The day includes tours of the facility, cake and ice cream, along with free balloon creation for kids. Guests are invited to bring items for the Birthday Club, which provides wrapped presents to hundreds of kids each year. New toys for boys and girls, birthday wrapping paper, cake mixes, frosting and plates, or gift cards for toy and discount stores are especially welcome. Downtown Idiotarod - Friday, March 02 - 11:00 AM
The Downtown Idiotarod begins with a corporate competition from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, March 2 and continues with the open competition from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3. The event mimics the Alaskan Iditarod, except dogs are replaced with people and sleds with shopping carts. The event benefits Operation Food Search. The Kappa Delta Sorority Alumnae Chapter of St. Louis is hosting a Pot of Gold Bunco Tournament from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 3 at Riverchase of Fenton (900 Horan Drive).
