Art Teacher Enrichment Classes - Tuesday, February 07 - 5:45 PM
Art teacher enrichment classes will be held from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 7, March 6 and April 3, at the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles. Designed specifically for art teachers, these workshops are full of hands-on activities to take back to art classrooms. Participants will leave with completed projects and a packet of hand-outs. Third Degree Glass Factory Third Friday Open House - Friday, February 17 - 6:00 PM
Third Degree Glass Factory hosts its Third Friday Open House from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 17, at 5200 Delmar Ave. Free s’mores from St. Louis Snowcone, Aalim Belly Dance and Arabian silk dancing, and fire spinning (weather permitting) are offered. The Great ReMake Book Class - Saturday, February 18 - 9:30 AM
“The Great ReMake Book Class,” taught by M.J. Goerke, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 18, at the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles. Reinvent the fate of old pieces of artwork and recycle it into a new and exciting art form. Paintings, collages, watercolors, and oil pieces can all be recreated into a masterpiece of a book. 16th annual Art, Wine & Brew Gala - Saturday, February 18 - 7:00 PM
The 16th annual Art, Wine & Brew Gala is at 7 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 18, at O’Fallon City Hall (100 North Main St., O’Fallon). The event is hosted by the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Krey Distributing Co. Gourmet tasting from area establishments, along with wine, beer and spirits are available. Local artisans display their work. Music and dancing is provided by My Friend Mike. General admission is $40 per person, and VIP tickets are available for $100. Faith Ringgold Quilt Artworks - Saturday, March 03 - 10:00 AM
Explore the art style of noted artist and children’s author Faith Ringgold through her quilt artworks from 10 a.m. to noon on Sat., March 3 and March 10, at the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles. In this two-part workshop, student artists will create their own story quilts on muslin cloth. Under the instruction of Shelley Geiger, young artists will use watercolor paint, a variety of drawing media, block printing techniques, embellishments, plus needle and thread on these one of a kind story quilts. Greater St. Louis Art Association Spring Art Fair - Friday, March 30 - 6:00 PM
The Greater St. Louis Art Association (GSLAA) hosts the Spring Art Fair from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Fri., March 30; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sat., March 31; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sun., April 1 at the indoor Greensfelder Recreation Center at Queeny Park. Approximately 130 juried artists from the region and throughout the country present their work, including ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, jewelry, printmaking, digital art, glass, fiber, sculpture, wood and more.
