Shop H.E.R.E. Press Release

The Newsmagazine Network is firmly committed to maintaining our region’s local economy and unique character. With that thought in mind, The Newsmagazine Network is proud to introduce our Shop H.E.R.E. (Help Energize the Region’s Economy) campaign. This program strives to encourage local consumers to consider locally-owned businesses in their buying decisions and to educate those consumers on the substantial economic impact of choosing a local business.

The Shop H.E.R.E. campaign is not asking consumers to ignore or boycott national chain stores, it is simply asking consumers to consider the locally owned business when making their buying decisions. For any number of reasons, consumers often will overlook smaller businesses when making buying decisions, but that does not have to be the case. Nationally, ‘shop local’ programs have generated remarkable results for various regions across the country and it is time for the St. Louis/ St. Charles Metro areas to take action to support our local businesses.

HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP:

At this point, we are simply looking for help spreading awareness of the program throughout the business community. The Newsmagazine Network has created a marketing campaign, valued at more than $50,000, which focuses on educating the public, but the front line of this campaign is the local business owner and operator.

The Newsmagazine Network is willing to create, in association with area Chambers of Commerce, special programs for new chamber members to help through the challenging start-up period of their businesses.

Please see the attached campaign outline for more information on Shop H.E.R.E. and for more information on how we can partner together to Help Energize the Region’s Economy. Please contact Tim Weber or Sharon Huber to begin your participation.

Thank you and we look forward to this opportunity to work with you.
