Shop H.E.R.E. Campaign Outline

The Newsmagazine Network is firmly committed to maintaining our region’s local economy and unique character. With that thought in mind, The Newsmagazine Network is proud to introduce our Shop H.E.R.E. (Help Energize the Region’s Economy) campaign. This program strives to encourage local consumers to consider locally owned businesses in their buying decisions and to educate those consumers on the substantial economic impact of choosing a local business.

Campaign Outline:

The Newsmagazine Network will donate space in every issue of every publication to the Shop H.E.R.E. campaign. This marketing blitz, valued at more than $50,000, will be used to educate consumers on the importance of shopping locally.

The Newsmagazine Network will also donate a dedicated portion of each publications Web site to the Shop H.E.R.E. campaign. Every participant in the campaign will receive a listing or link to their business Web site.

The Newsmagazine Network will partner with area Chambers of Commerce to create special programs for new chamber members to help through the challenging start-up period of their business.

The Newsmagazine Network will provide Shop H.E.R.E. window stickers for participating businesses to help create consumer awareness that a specific business is indeed a locally owned business.

The Newsmagazine Network will dedicate two issues annually of each publication to the Shop H.E.R.E. campaign. These issues will feature special Profile-style advertisements for locally owned businesses and editorial highlighting area demographics and the unique character of the region’s business community. All Profile participants in these issues will receive a free Shop H.E.R.E. window sticker.

Businesses can also participate in the Shop H.E.R.E. campaign by demonstrating local ownership and by investing $25 to the Shop H.E.R.E. campaign. These businesses will be listed in the Web directory and receive a Shop H.E.R.E. window sticker.
