Cottlestock is coming June 11-12

By:
Mary Ann O’Toole Holley

You won't need bell-bottom pants, love beads or even a tie-dye tee to bring that old feeling of peace, love and harmony back. The city of Cottleville will ease you into two days of music as it hosts Cottlestock: A Weekend of Peace, Love and Music.

The two-day music celebration will be held at the city's Legacy Park (adjacent to the Cottleville Police Station) beginning at 5 p.m. until 11 p.m., Friday, June 11; and noon until 11 p.m., June 12.

"Tickets are going fast, but we're limited to 5,000 each day," said Cottleville Mayor Don Yarber. "It's really taking off. I've got a lot of good local bands, and we already have several people who have completed paperwork at City Hall to camp in the park for the weekend."

Twelve groovy bands including That 80's Band, Pepperland, Rough Ryders, Radio Rich, Contagious, My Own Medicine, and a lot of local bands that will attract a variety of music fans, Yarber said.

Food will be available for purchase, prepared by members of the Cottleville Police Department, who will use the sales as a fundraiser. Funds raised from Cottlestock admission will help pay for construction of a permanent stage at the site of the amphitheater, Yarber said.

The cost is $10 each day with children under age 10 admitted free. Bring a chair or blanket and come out and join the fun. To camp for the weekend, complete an application at Cottleville City Hall.

Parking will be available at Francis Howell Central High School with a shuttle bus to take you to the park.

Buy your tickets early at Cottleville City Hall, Posh, Aly's, Cottleville Wine Seller, Thyme Out, The Flower Stop or Incredible Engravings.  For more information call Cottleville City Hall at 498-6565.
