Metropolitan Amateur Golf Assocation kicks off its 2013 season

The Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association will tee off for the new golf season Thursday (March 21).
The MAGA will hold its 2013 Spring Kickoff Celebration at Norwood Hills Country Club. Last year, the MAGA introduced this new program where its begins the new season and reflects back on the past season.
The 2012 Player of the Year Awards will be presented and all of the MAGA Champions will be recognized.
Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served from 6 to 7 p.m.. The cost for the evening is $37.50, which includes beer, wine and food during the hours. There is a price children that attend and it is $17.50.
Skip Berkmeyer found his way to the top of the 2012 Player of the Year Points Standings after another solid season. This marks the 10th time Berkmeyer has been honored as the area’s top amateur golfer.
Jeff Johnson also had a solid 2012 summer and repeats as the Senior Player of the Year.
Ellen Port will be honored as the Women’s and Senior Women’s Player of the Year.
Additionally, many announcements for the 2013 season will be made.
