Presented since 1992, the St. Louis Arts Awards is the preeminent award ceremony honoring individuals who achieve a legacy of artistic excellence, and organizations and businesses that enrich St. Louis’ arts and cultural community. The 2014 St. Louis Arts Awards will be held on January 20, 2014, at The Chase Park Plaza. Proceeds from the event benefit the Arts and Education Council’s annual campaign which funds nearly 70 arts and arts education organizations throughout the 16-county, bi-state region.
“Our past honorees include individuals, organizations and businesses who have made a significant contribution to the St. Louis art community through their work, commitment and creativity. Our yearly nomination process has continually introduced us to a new and ever more diverse group of leaders in our arts and arts education community,” said Cynthia A. Prost, president of the Arts and Education Council.
Past award categories include Lifetime Achievement in the Arts, Corporate Support of the Arts, Excellence in Philanthropy, Excellence in the Arts, Arts Innovator, Arts Champion, Arts Collaboration and Art Educator of the Year. Nominators are welcome to suggest new categories for their nominations. Arts Awards honorees are selected because they have shown a dedication to the arts community and have successfully worked to keep art happening and thriving in the St. Louis region.
