Forbes recently released its 2013 list for the most miserable U.S. cities, and St. Louis was ranked at No. 12, with Detroit coming in at No. 1.
“St. Louis and Detroit are the only two metros to rank in the bottom 50 percent in each of the nine metrics of misery we considered,” the article said. “St. Louis’ worst scores are on net migration.”
This year, the publication said it examined nine factors for the 200 largest metro areas in the U.S. The metrics include the serious: violent crime, unemployment, foreclosures, taxes and home prices. It also included issues like commute times and weather.
