District action for high school girls basketball in Class 5 and 4 set to begin

Postseason action in high school girls basketball kicks off Saturday in Class 4 and 5.
In Class 5 action, St. Joseph’s Academy drew the top seed in the District 2 meet at Ladue. The Angels finished in second place in the MWAA White Conference. Parkway South, winners of the Suburban West, is the top seed in the District 3 tournament at Marquette. Parkway North, winners of the Suburban North, is the top seed in District 4 at Parkway Central.
In Class 4, MICDS, winners of the Metro League, is top seed in District 6 action at Clayton.
District play in Class 3 began earlier this week. Principia and Whitfield have reached the semifinals in District 6 play at Lutheran St. Peters.
Here is a look at the seedings and schedules for the districts:
Class 5
District 2 at Ladue
Seedings and record: 1. St. Joseph’s Academy (18-5). 2. Nerinx Hall (15-8). 3. Ladue (16-7). 4. Ritenour (19-7). 5. Riverview Gardens (3-13).
Schedule: Ritenour vs. Riverview Gardens at 3 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 23). St. Joseph’s will play the winner of Ritenour vs. Riverview Gardens at 5 p.m. Monday (Feb. 25) and Nerinx Hall meets Ladue at 8 p.m. The championship game will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.
District 3 at Marquette
Seedings and record: 1. Parkway South (22-3). 2. Marquette (16-8). 3. Eureka (14-11). 4. Lafayette (11-14). 5. Rockwood Summit (11-14)
Schedule: Lafayette vs. Summit at 7:15 p.m. Monday (Feb. 25). Marquette meets Eureka at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Parkway South plays the winner Lafayette vs. Summit at 7:15 p.m. The title game is noon Saturday.
District 4 at Parkway Central
Seedings and record: 1. Parkway North (23-1). 2. Parkway Central (17-7). 3. Pattonville (11-11). 4. Parkway West (9-15).
Schedule: Parkway North vs. Parkway West at 4 p.m. Monday (Feb. 25) and Parkway Central vs. Pattonville at 5:30 p.m. Monday. The championship game will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Class 4
District 6 at Clayton
Seedings and record: 1. MICDS (22-2). 2. Westminster Christian Academy (19-5). 3. Visitation Academy (12-12). 4. Clayton (12-11). 5. Villa Duchesne (7-14). 6. University City (1-22). 7. Normandy (0-18).
Schedule: Clayton vs. Villa Duchesne at 5:30 p.m. Monday (Feb. 25) and Westminster vs. Normandy at 6:30 p.m. and Visitation vs. University City at 8 p.m. MICDS will play the winner of Clayton vs. Villa Duchesne at 4 p.m. Tuesday and the winner of Westminster vs. Normandy meets the winner of Visitation vs. University City at 5:30 p.m. The championship game is 6 p.m. Thursday.
Class 3
District 4 at Lutheran St. Peters
Seedings: 1. Principia. 2. Lutheran St. Peters. 3. Whitfield. 4. John Burroughs. 5. Brentwood. 6. Valley Park. 7. John F. Kennedy. 8. Maplewood.
In earlier action this week, Principia (18-8) defeated Maplewood 68-19. The Panthers are set to meet John Burroughs at 4:30 p.m. Friday (Feb. 22) in a semifinal game. Whitfield (16-10) beat Valley Park 44-28 to advance and play Lutheran St. Peters, who eliminated Kennedy 54-23 at 6 p.m. The championship game is set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
