Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis has announced it will open a second ReStore in Des Peres. The new ReStore proposal received unanimous approval for a variance as required by the Des Peres Board of Adjustments. It is scheduled to open in June and will be located at 2117 Sams Drive.
The mission of the ReStore is to provide additional financial resources to Habitat for Humanity St. Louis, expand opportunities to serve a broader base of the community by providing low-cost materials and provide good stewardship of sustainable resources within the St. Louis MSA.
The Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis ReStore provides financial support for Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis by selling building supplies, home remodeling materials and home décor items to the general public. The ReStore also facilitates reuse and waste reduction by accepting donations of reusable but no longer wanted materials.
The new Des Peres ReStore hours of operation will be: Wednesday and Thursday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Friday through Sunday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis anticipates the creation of 6-plus, full-time paid jobs that will supplemented by additional part-time staff.
More information on Habitat’s Restore is available at www.habitatstl.org/restore . Josh Vaughn is the senior ReStore manager.
Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis is a not-for-profit, ecumenical housing ministry working in partnership with individuals and communities of all faiths to improve living conditions and provide safe, decent and affordable housing in the St. Louis community.
