Chief Everett
The Cottleville Fire Protection District has hired Dean Everett as the new assistant chief of training for the district. Everett is a 27-year fire service veteran, who began his career with the district in the late 1980s as one of the first paid personnel.
He comes back to the district from the Frontenac Fire Department where he served as a captain and training officer. In addition to his fire department duties, Everett worked at the St. Louis County Fire Academy as an instructor and administrator, and deputy chief, for 23 years. He has been an active member of the St. Louis Metro Area Training Coordinates and currently holds the position of secretary.
He will complete his bachelor’s degree in Fire Science Management in spring of 2013 at Lindenwood University, and has an extensive list of state and national certifications.
Everett and his wife reside in St. Charles County.
CFPD officials said hiring a training chief was a priority of the district’s successful CARES initiative that passed in November 2012. In addition to Everett, the district hired three additional firefighters as a first step towards meeting national staffing standards.
