Founders Cup high school hockey postseason begins with no defending champion

There will be a new Founders Cup champion in the Midstates Club Hockey Association playoffs this as postseason gets under way.
Ladue is the defending champion but the Rams are competing in the Wickenheiser Cup playoffs this season.
Here are the other seeds for the Founders Cup in order: Parkway West, Parkway South, Mehlville, Wentzville Timberland, St. Mary’s, Fort Zumwalt South, John Burroughs, Whitfield, Priory, Parkway North and St. Charles West.
The Founders Cup action began Tuesday when St. Charles West played Timberland. The first-round series are a best of two with a mini-game to be played if necessary to decide a winner.
First-round play continues Friday (Feb. 1) with three games. Whitfield meets John Burroughs at 7:20 p.m. at the Hardee’s Ice Plex while Parkway North plays St. Mary’s at 8 p.m. at Affton and Priory squares off with Fort Zumwalt South at 9:30 p.m. at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.
On Saturday (Feb. 2), Timberland plays St. Charles West at 6:45 p.m. at St. Peters Rec-Plex while Fort Zumwalt South at 8:15 at Queeny Park and St. Mary’s plays Parkway North at 10:30 p.m. at Webster Groves.
John Burroughs meets Whitfield at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 7) at Queeny Park.
The winner of the John Burroughs-Whitfield series will face top-seeded Pattonville. The winner of the Timberland-St. Charles West series meets Mehlville. The winner of the St. Mary’s-Parkway North series will play Parkway South. The winner of the Fort Zumwalt South-Priory series will play Parkway West.
The times and locations of the second-round games has yet to be determined.
