Chesterfield resident Deondre Elem had arranged to sell his 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo on Dec. 13 to a young man he had met a few days earlier. They arranged to make the sale in the Vandeventer area of the city. But the transaction went fatally wrong.
Tierrance Davis, 17, was charged Saturday with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action in the shooting death of Elem.
Reportedly, the two met as planned, but rather than paying for the car, Davis shot Elem in the head and stole the victim’s car.
Police found Elem dead in the 4800 block of C.D. Banks Ave. On Friday, police apprehended Davis near his home.
