High school girls volleyball district play begins this week

It’s time for high school volleyball districts to get under way.
Action begins in some districts Monday (Oct. 22) with all the classes finishing by Thursday. Sectional games featuring the winners of the districts will begin Saturday (Oct. 27).
Here are the seedings and team records for Class 4 District 3 at Pacific: 1. Lafayette (27-0). 2. Eureka (18-13-2). 3. Pacific (20-7-1). 4. Parkway South (12-15-2). 5. Washington (15-16-1). 6. Northwest (11-14-3). 7. Rockwood Summit (9-19-1).
First-round games are: Parkway South meeting Washington at 5 p.m.; Eureka playing Summit at 6:15 and Pacific playing Northwest at 7:15 p.m. The winner of the Parkway South-Washington game will play Lafayette at 5 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 23). The winners of the other two first-round games will play at 6:15 p.m. The two semifinals winners then meet for the championship at 7:30 p.m.
Here are the seedings for Class 4 District 4 at St. Joseph’s Academy: 1. St. Joseph’s Academy (23-3), 2. Ursuline Academy (22-7-2). 3. Nerinx Hall (17-13-3). 4. Kirkwood (20-11-1). 5. Webster Groves (11-7-1). 6. Ladue (19-5).
First-round games set for Tuesday (Oct. 23) are: Nerinx Hall facing Ladue at 4:30 p.m. and Kirkwood meeting Webster Groves at 6 p.m. In the semifinals Thursday, St. Joseph’s meets the winner of the Kirkwood-Webster Groves game at 4:30 p.m. while Ursuline Academy plays the winner of Nerinx Hall and Ladue at 6 p.m. The winners play for the district title at 7:30 p.m.
Here are the seedings for Class 4 District 5 at Incarnate Word Academy: 1. Incarnate Word Academy (14-11). 2. Pattonville (11-8-3). 3. Rosati-Kain (17-13-3). 4. Ritenour (20-11). 5. Normandy (2-20). 6. Gateway (8-3).
First-round games set for Monday are: Ritenour meeting Normandy at 4 p.m. and Rosati-Kain playing Gateway at 5 p.m. In the semifinals Wednesday, Incarnate World plays the winner of Ritenour-Normandy at 4 p.m. and Pattonville faces the winner of Rosati-Kain and Gateway at 5 p.m. The winners play for the district title at 6 p.m.
Here are the seedings for Class 4 District 7 at Marquette: 1. Marquette (22-3-1). 2. Parkway Central (14-11). 3. Parkway West (10-14-1). 4. Parkway North (24-8). 5. Fort Zumwalt East (7-17). 6. Francis Howell North (3-25).
First-round games set for Tuesday are: Parkway North playing Fort Zumwalt East at 4:30 p.m. and Parkway West playing Francis Howell North at 5:45 p.m. In the semfinals Wednesday, Marquette plays the winner of the Parkway North-Fort Zumwalt North game at 4:30 p.m. while Parkway Central mees the winner of the Parkway West-Francis Howell North game at 5:45. The two winners will play for the district title at 7 p.m.
Here are the seedings for Class 3 District 5 at Villa Duschesne: 1. Villa Duchesne (23-11-1). 2. Westminster Christian Academy (21-6-1). 3. Visitation Academy (8-6). 4. MICDS (11-10). 5. John Burroughs (11-13-2). 6. John F. Kennedy (9-13-1). 7. Clayton (14-12-1).
First-round games set for Tuesday are: MICDS playing John Burroughs at 4:30 p.m., Westminster facing Clayyton at 6 p.m. and Visitation meeting Kennedy at 7:30 p.m. In the semifinals Wednesday, Villa Duschesne meets the winner of the MICDS-John Burroughs matchup at 4:30 p.m. while the winners of the other two first-round games play at 6 p.m. The two semifinals winners then play for the district title at 7:30 p.m.
Here are the seedings for Class 2 District 5 at Whitfield: 1. Barat Academy (11-12). 2. Crossroads College Preparatory (13-7-1). 3. Whitfield (8-10). 4. Principia (4-15). 5. Maplewood (15-13-1). 6. Brentwood (9-15-2). 7. Valley Park (4-23).
First-round games set for Monday are: Principia plays Maplewood at 4 p.m., Crossroads meets Valley Park at 5:30 p.m. and Whitfield faces Brentwood at 7 p.m. In the semfinals Tuesday, Barat Academy meets the winner of the Principia-Maplewood game at 5 p.m. while the winners of the two first-round games play at 6:30 p.m. The championship game is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday.
