The St. Charles County Election Authority has announced extended Saturday’s for absentee voting. The law requires that the Saturday prior to the election, absentee voting must be available.
Starting Saturday Oct. 20, including Saturday, Oct. 27, and Saturday, Nov.3, the Election Authority at 397 Turner Boulevard in St. Peters, will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Normal weekday hours at the Election Authority are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Already walk-in absentee voting is running much higher than four years ago, with almost 2,700 votes cast the first two weeks of voting. Requests for overseas military absentees are three times as many as in 2008.
For those who have a student away at college they can request an absentee ballot be mailed to them.
St. Charles County voters that have moved to another St. Charles County address since the last time you voted, please call the Election Authority to verify and transfer your address information for your voter registration card. You may have moved to, or have been assigned a different polling place.
Courtesy notification cards will be mailed to all voters within the last 10 days before the election.
For more information, please contact the Election Authority at 949-7550.
