The unveiling of the highway sign in Darrell Roegner’s honor will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, at the commuter parking lot that is accessible via the exit for Hwy. K and 94, off of Hwy. 40 East Bound lanes at mile marker 10.4. The public is invited to the dedication of a permanent highway sign to celebrate and recognize Mr. Roegner’s years of dedication to the success of St. Charles County and its communities.

Mr. Roegner was a long-time resident of St. Charles County. Throughout his professional career and as a resident, he believed in giving back to his community. It was typical to see his involvement in any function that supported growth of a business, or economic development for the St. Charles Region.

Mr. Roegner supported projects that enabled and encouraged the extraordinary growth of St. Charles County from the 1980s through the first decade of the 21st century. He volunteered his time to serve on many community boards. He took leadership roles to bring sports fields to our county and was instrumental in the expansion of hospital services to meet the needs of county citizens south and west of Hwy. 40, including aiding in obtaining the Certificate of Need for Progress West Health Care, a member of BJC Health Care. Mr. Roegner worked with business leaders and politicians in promoting the idea of a “technology corridor” along Hwy. 40, which supported economic development and job growth in the area.
