St. Charles Police investigating fatal traffic crash

The St. Charles Police are investigating a single car traffic crash which resulted in a fatality.

The agency received a report of a traffic accident at approximately 1:30 a.m., Sept. 11. The crash occurred in the 600 block of S. Second St. Police said the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, David M. Crawford, 28, of the 100 block of Whetstone Drive, in St. Charles, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported that Crawford was southbound on S. Second when he lost control of his vehicle which skidded then overturned, ejecting Crawford. Accident reconstruction investigators are working to determine what factors may have contributed to the crash.
