CBC remains No. 1 in Class 6 state football poll; Lafayette moves up to No. 4

With a convincing 30-6 victory over Eureka in Week 2, CBC retained its top spot in the Class 6 Missouri football poll.
The statewide high school football rankings are compiled by a 14-member panel of Missouri sportswriters and broadcasters.
CBC (2-0) had 10 first-place votes and totaled 135 points while No. 2 Blue Springs (2-0) received 129 points. CBC is in action Friday against Metro Catholic Conference foe St. Louis University High.
Lafayette (2-0) moved up a notch from No 5 to No. 4 in this week’s poll with 86 points. The Lancers thumped Pattonville 48-0 last week. Lafayette returns to Suburban West Conference action it faces undefeated rival Marquette at 7 p.m. Friday.
Columbia Rock Bridge, which had the other four first-place votes, is third with 108 points.
Rounding out the poll were Rockhurst, Jefferson City, De Smet, Francis Howell, Blue Springs South and Raymore-Pecular.
De Smet rebounded from its season-opening loss with a 21-0 win over Hazelwood Central to move to No. 7 from No. 8. The Spartans will host Metro Catholic Conference foe Vianney at 7 p.m. Friday.
Undefeated Parkway South (2-0), picked up seven votes. The Patriots defeated Ritenour 7-0 and the Huskies, who were ranked No. 10, fell out of the poll.
In Class 5, Parkway Central (2-0) received three votes and the Colts remain out of the rankings. The Colts will celebrate homecoming with a 7 p.m. Suburban South Conference game against Seckman.
In Class 4, Westminster Christian Academy (2-0) got five votes after its big 34-0 win over MICDS last week. The Wildcats will play at Lutheran North at 2 p.m. Saturday.
