Car crash results in fire, injuries

A car crash at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 14 resulted in one car catching fire and two people taken to area hospitals with injuries.

West County EMS and Fire Protection District crews responded to the accident at Dougherty Ferry and Carmen roads after a passerby notified Manchester Police that a car was on fire at the scene.

No determination has been made as to the cause of the accident, although a utility pole was knocked down. Names of the injured persons have not been released.
