O’ Fallon man held on child molestation, burglary charges

An O’Fallon man has been taken into custody after an attempted child molestation and burglary at a home in the 200 block of Casalon Parkway, police said.
The O’Fallon Police Department received a call at 11:05 a.m., July 17, in reference to alleged burglary and molestation.
Police said the suspect, Pedro Chavez, 24, while at the residence, attempted to molest the 13-year-old victim. The suspect left the residence and then unlawfully reentered the residence and again attempted to molest the victim, police said.
The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on Chavez for two counts of Attempted Child Molestation and Burglary 1st Degree, with a $100,000 dollar bond.
