With the ongoing excessive dry conditions, the St. Charles County Parks Department has issued a fire ban at parks with camping facilities.
Beginning Friday, June 29, campers staying at the campgrounds at Klondike Park in Augusta and the Youth Group Camp Area at Indian Camp Creek Park, near Wentzville, are prohibited from having camp fires until further notice. Because of fire risk, no wood or open fires area permitted. Charcoal fires are allowed in designated barbecue pits and fire rings for cooking only.
These fire restrictions are in place to ensure the safety of all park guests. Notifications have been posted throughout the parks.
Fireworks are also prohibited in all St. Charles County Parks underCountyOrdinance.
