Don’t talk to strangers, or hug them either

A man accused of asking strange women for hugs has been questioned and released by Des Peres Police.
The man, who was deemed “very cooperative” by Des Peres Police during questioning on June 20, is accused of engaging women with tales of being a past acquaintance and then asking the women for a hug. An incident on June 12 at the Des Peres Schnucks tipped off the Des Peres Police, who reported other similar incidents at that same store and in Fairview Heights and Wood River, Ill.
Although no crime appears to be committed, Des Peres Police have warned the man that his behavior “isn’t a good thing to be doing.”
Des Peres Police plan to forward the case to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office for consideration of charges.
