Owner of Cosmetic Laser Center arrested

The St. Peters Police Department has arrested the owner of Cosmetic Laser Center, 7030 Mexico Road, for sexual assault which allegedly occurred on June 19.  The owner is identified as Lawrence Branam, 48, of  O’Fallon, Mo.

Police said Branam was arrested at his business after the department received a report that he allegedly touched a female patient inappropriately during laser hair removal treatments. Police said the victim reported going in for laser hair removal, which required several appointments to complete the treatments. After numerous appointments, she alleged Branam started touching her in areas which were not treated as part of the laser hair removal process. The victim stated the touching was sexual in nature and unwanted, police said.

Branam was charged through St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with Assault 3^rd in 2011 in a similar incident.  The case has not yet been resolved in the state court.

Currently, Branam has been charged through St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with Deviate Sexual Assault with a bond of $100,000. He was to be transferred to the St. Charles County Jail facility on June 20.

St. Peters Police Department is asking anyone who has received treatment at Cosmetic Laser Center by Branam, and they feel as though they were a victim of a sexual assault, to contact Det. Doug Ziegemeier at 278-2244 ext. 3594.
