Two charged in home burglary case

The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has issued in-custody warrants for the charge of Burglary 1st Degree on Mychael W. Hutsell Sr, of the 1100 block of Caulks Hill Rd inSt. Charles County and Christian M. King, of the 2700 block of Linden Place in St. CharlesCounty.
The warrants allege Hutsell and King entered into a home, Feb. 12, while the homeowner slept only 20 feet away. A laptop, a purse and its contents were taken from a counter top. Police said investigations are ongoing to ascertain if Hutsell and King may be responsible for other incidents in St. Charles or surrounding communities.
St. Charles Police have identified a recent trend in burglaries of occupied residences and would like to remind everyone to take personal security measures seriously. Keep doors and windows locked even when at home. Before going to bed at night, ensure garage doors are closed and that vehicles are secured.
